Overview
Dukling helps South African families monitor their baby's wellbeing. We are built privacy-first: you choose how much data ever leaves your home, and we collect as little as possible to run the service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account & contact details you give us, such as your name, email, phone number and delivery address. Monitoring data from your devices, such as heart rate, blood-oxygen, skin temperature, movement, room conditions, and camera or audio streams. App & device information such as settings, firmware versions, and basic diagnostics that help us keep the service reliable.
How we use it
We use your information to provide live monitoring, sleep insights and alerts; to deliver notifications to your phone and, if you opt in, over WhatsApp; to process and ship orders; and to provide support and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.
Local-first and your choices
Dukling can run in Local mode, where footage and vitals stay on your home network and are not uploaded to our cloud. In Cloud mode, data is synced so you can view trends and monitor remotely. You can change monitoring mode, alert types and cloud recording at any time in Settings.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us run Dukling (for example hosting, messaging and payments), under agreements that require them to protect it, or where required by law. We never sell your data.
Security & retention
We protect your information with encryption in transit and appropriate safeguards, and we keep it only as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. No system is perfectly secure, so we also give you local-first controls to limit what is stored.
Children's data
Dukling is used by parents and caregivers to monitor an infant. Monitoring data relating to your baby is collected on your instruction and used only to provide the service to you, the account holder.
Your rights
In line with South Africa's POPIA, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to certain processing. Email us and we'll help.
